I like about 25 minutes away from the base I drill at. You have to drill 1 weekend per month and 2 weeks out of the year, which means you go on base one weekend a month to do your job and for an additional 2 weeks, you are activated. You generally spend that time working full time at your command or at a school for training. Sometimes, if your command has the funds and you request it early enough, you can go somewhere cool. I really enjoy it....I've learned a lot and I'll probably reenlist when my time is up! If you need anything at all, let me know!|||Well being a Reservist one can be called up to active duty individually as opposed to a National Guardsmne they whole unit has to be called up. The reserves generally give pretty good college tution benefits plus you get the G.I. bill which is about $330 a month just for going to school.





The base you are assigned to will depend on your MOS and where it is needed at, so you might be close to home and you might not it just depends, but you shouldn't be to far.





Now the Reserves don't have combat arms MOS's anymore the National Gurad oes. Generally reservist travel just once a year unless they are called up for duty for something.

I don't like this question. Your router should already be configured for best effort routing assuming it is configured. Best effort is simply traffic that has low priority. As to the parameters for quality of service it depends on the model of the router and whether you are using ToS or DSCP to differentiate the traffic to prioritize it. Some router vendors dynamically implement the prioritization based upon ToS field in the frame. In my opinion this question is incomplete.

This will give you the darker brown shade needed to now reach the darker shade of green. Put fresh hot water in the bucket and add one pack of Ritz dye in the green. Let it sit overnight again. rinse it outside so nothing gets turned green in the house. Then rinse it in your bath tube and let it dry over the bucket in the tub. you will have a really great green corset for like $10 I would also make it look more like Ivy if I were you and trace an ivy leaf over and over all around the corset.|||I was gonna sugest Hot Topic, but they are pretty expensive, so try looking at their 80% off clearance rack. :)|||If you just want the corset STYLE try Hottopic or any teen store's lingere area, or you could try making one. i just got these i believe veryy small flat like fish and was wondering if they can go together?|||The comment about the rice fields is true, they originated in the rice fields of China. They may be "used" to living in small enclosures, but that doesnt mean its the best for them. They also did not jump from hole to hole, but rather, when the rainy season came around, the fields would flood, and then they would breed.





Bettas CAN take water from the surface, as can Gouramis. They have both developed something called a Labyrinth organ. But this doesn't mean they sit there at the top take gulps of fresh air, and that does not change their need for water like every other fish.





A 2.5 gallon tank is the minimum for your Betta. If you want to get anything else with the fish, you should get at least a 5 gallon. Then you could maybe get an Aquatic Frog and some shrimp. You Betta will not attack any plain coloured fish or fish without long fins. Bettas see anything that is flashy as competition.





You need to get a bigger tank for your Betta or else he will not live a happy life and will probably die sooner than later. The only reason Bettas are in half gallon bowls in petstores is because it is a temporary home.





Hope this helps and I hope you listen to all the great advice people have put up :)|||Fish bowls are known as fish death traps, because no species of fish is suited to live in fish bowls. Do not listen to the people at the pet store, they are idiots. Betta fish need at least a 5 gallon tank, with a sponge filter and a heater set at 78 degrees fahrenheit. They need betta pellets, water conditioner, and distilled water to fill the tank up. They need plants and decorations, but make sure the plants are either live or silk, because any plants with sharp leaves can tear at the betta's fins. If you want to get a companion for your betta fish, remember that the only fish compatible with bettas are fish who aren't very colorful and don't have long, flowing fins, or else the betta might mistake the fish for another betta and fight it. Also try to avoid fin nippers. Snails are compatible, too, and African dwarf frogs. With a 5 gallon tank, the only thing that you can add would be a single mystery snail. Anything else, you need a bigger tank, because bettas need at least 5 gallons to themselves.|||No. A half gallon bowl is too small for one fish, let alone two.





Also, bowls can be detrimental to the health of the fish, regardless of species. Without more description, I don't think anyone could tell you what the other fish is. Either way, a bowl is cruel.





If you absolutely must keep a fish in a bowl, make sure you have an aerator going and only ONE fish per gallon. The other thing is to only fill the bowl to the widest point, while still making sure the fish has room to swim.





Regardless, this should be a TEMPORARY option and not a permanent solution. A tank with regular filtration and aeration is a better option.





As far as the betta being with another fish, that's fine, as long as they have enough room. A betta is best in 2.5 gallons or more. 1 1/2 tablespoons cold water


1 1/2 cups heavy cream, divided

1/3 cup sugar, plus 1 tablespoon


2 pints (4 cups) sliced fresh strawberries


2 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper


Freshly grated lemon zest, for serving





In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin on 1 1/2 tablespoons of cold water. Stir and set aside for 10 minutes to allow the gelatin to dissolve.


Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk together 3/4 cup of the cream, the yogurt, vanilla extract, and vanilla bean seeds. Heat the remaining 3/4 cup of cream and the 1/3 cup of sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Off the heat, add the softened gelatin to the hot cream and stir to dissolve. Pour the hot cream-gelatin mixture into the cold cream-yogurt mixture and stir to combine. Pour into 4 (6 to 8-ounce) ramekins or custard cups and refrigerate uncovered until cold. When the panna cottas are thoroughly chilled, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.





Combine the strawberries, balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon sugar, and pepper 30 minutes to 1 hour before serving. Set aside at room temperature.





To serve, run a small knife around each dessert in the ramkein and dip the bottom of each ramekin quickly in a bowl of hot tap water. Invert each ramekin onto a dessert plate and surround the panna cotta with strawberries. Dust lightly with freshly grated lemon zest and serve.

Well im going to chess camp (Im 12 and my rating is 1043) I play against kids my around my age and rating 900-1370, i noticed that alot of them do the queens gambit and the ruy lopez. How can black counter attack those 2 openings and destroy white or put black in a good position?|||Answers vary and are based on your taste. Against the Queen's gambit I used to use the Dutch defense. I can't recommend that except as an occasional thing. If it becomes known that you play the Dutch, people will suddenly play very well against it, and Bad Bishops are not very fun.:) (Look into the dutch and you'll see the bad bishop problem.)


I switched to the Tchigorin (everyone and their dog uses one of the Indians - King's, Queen's, and Nimzo) Giving up a Bishop for a knight is easier to do if you are used to having a bad bishop.:) (Tchigorin thought knights were better than bishops - it is vice versa, but not by much.)





Against the Ruy, look up "the Petrov" or "the Russian Defense." Again, based on your taste, you might want to look into the French, Caro-Cann, Sicilian, Alekhine, Center-Counter or Pirc. Other things (like the Nimzovitch - 1e4 Nc6 2d4 and white obtains his opening objective - are essentially curiosities that turn into a bad Pirc is they hold any hope.)





Or if you are absolutely insane try the Latvian Gambit -1e4 e5 2Nf3 f5.:) Just kidding.|||I personally use the Queens Gambit a lot as white myself. After 1) d4, d5 2) c4, black should not take the pawn at all costs. If he takes, white will move his e pawn and capture with the bishop, creating a powerful position. In my opinion black should do the Queens Gambit Declined by defending the d pawn with e6. He should then do Nf6 and develop naturally. The ruy lopez is a whole different matter. I personally hate the ruy lopez and don't think its great for white. After he brings out the bishop, you should do a6. He will most likely retreat, wasting a tempo. As black I just develop naturally. Recently I have been thinking of learning the Sicilian Defence (1. e4 c5) probably the Dragon Variation.





Same with the Queen Pawn opening, I hate the Queen's Gambit when White plays 1. d4 I will not respond with d5 ... I will play 1. ... Nf6 and I like to play 2. ... g6 so I can fiancetto the King Bishop castle early. This becomes a Queen's Indian Defence.





I often play the English Opening (1. c4) .





I think it is important to realize that you don't have to respond to 1. e4 with e5 or d4 with d5. There are many playable alternatives.

N before B, move each piece once before moving it again, castle asap, control the center, countering opponents development.|||First of all, the Queens Gambit is generally played by those who like maneuvering and slowly strangling the opponent, while e4 openings like Ruy Lopez are played by attacking players who like positions with a lot of tactics. It always helps to know the opponent's style while playing a game.





Queen's Gambit:


First of all, it is not advisable to accept the gambit. So after, 1. d4 d5 2.c4, Black's choices are ...c6 (Slav Defense) and ...e6 (The Main Line). If you feel you are up to doing a bit of research, I recommend the Slav. Wikipedia has some excellent content on it.


There are a couple of well-known traps in the Main Line. Here is one, which several of my weaker opponents fall into.

Very well, then.





Since the Queen's Gambit opens with 1. d4 d5 2. c4, it's evident that White aims to develop in the Queenside by luring you into an obvious trap of 2 ... dxc4. This in turn is followed by White's 3. Nc3. Refrain from that. Instead, you can set up a defensive measure by playing QGD, with either of the common 2 ... e6 or 2 ... Nf6. However, e6 is safer than Nf6.





The game then goes on with White's development on the Q-side; to be on the safe side, castle on the K-side, with the K-side bishop fianchettoed on g7. This gives you a solid line, and a hidden offense for later.





You may want to try two traps I'll be giving next, which involves the Queen's Gambit, and is in favor of Black (and it might give them a hell of a shock, too. ;) )

Unfortunately, these traps only work once on an opponent. but if you're lucky, it can be used over and over. Don't use these traps in abundance, tough.








The Ruy Lopez is a pretty solid opening, usually with White on the offensive. But, with careful preparation, this can be countered. Since the Bishop attacks the Knight on c6, threatening the capture of the pawn on e5, it could be safe to place the other knight by playing 3 ... Nge7, to prevent a double pawn. Once an exchange is made, play will remain relatively level. However, when the Knight is still left alone, the bishop can be threatened with a6. If the exchange is made, the double pawn cannot be avoided. However, if the Bishop moves back to a5, a follow-up threat can be done with b5. Black gains tempo in this situation.





Here, I have another trap that I frequently use (I don't know the name, though).





1. e4 e5


2. Nf3 Nc6


3. Bb5 Bb4


Now the trap depends on whether White captures the knight right away.


4. Bxc6 dxc6


The d-pawn must be used.


5. Nxe5


White is a pawn ahead, but there is a surprise in line.


5 ... Qd4!


Well, if White doesn't get the Knight to protect THAT square, you can give White a checkmate on f2.








But, please bear in mind that both of my suggestions are from my early days of chess. I employ much advanced tactics, so it's better if you stick to the basics first.

What do tone pots do ina guitar?

How do tone pots work, I am really confused. I am replacing crappy *** pickups with EMG pickups and I don't want some crappy tone/volume pots to set me back. I don't know much about wiring or about the function of these tone pots so can anybody explain the basic function and like what is good/bad ina tone pot? Please helpo|||First off, you have to use the pots that came with the pickups anyway, otherwise it will sound like crap. Secondly, next time you ask, be a bit more specific on the model. Guitar circuitry is very complex, It took me a while to really understand it. I'm assuming you have the standard set of EMG's which is basically the 81/85's (they're all close to the same, when it comes to wiring). When I installed my own EMG's, I didn't like the instructions they gave me so, I'll explain to you the way I did it (and it sounded alot better). You're going to need a couple of things: A solderer, a screwdriver, a wire cutter, and the EMG package. First off DO NOT connect the bridge ground wire untill you have completely finished the installation. The first thing you need to do is remove your old pickups. Open up your control cavity (located directly underneath your pots), and disconnect everything, in fact you're better off cutting off all the wires. Unscrew your pickups, and pull out all the wires. Unscrew your output jack, and remove everything from there as well. Your guitar circuitry should now be completely empty. Once you've removed everything, insert the volume pot - that came with the pickups - into the volume pot hole. This is where things start to get tough. Place the EMG volume and tone control in the instrument. Mount the pickup in the mounting ring and install the quick connect cable. Solder the braid of the pickup cable to the case of the volume control and connect the switch wires. Put in the EMG output jack. Solder the output wire to the jack.Solder the red wire of the pickup to the red wire of the battery clip and cover the connection with the heat shrink tubing provided. Use some of the packaging foam that comes with the pickup and surround the battery to insulate it. Place the battery on the clip and place it securely in the control cavity. Test everything out before you close up the cavity. If it doesn't work, you need to contact the company, or a repair shop that knows how to install them. Other than that this should help.





NOTE: This was very hard to explain without a diagram, So bare with me.|||Pots will not affect the tone of your new EMG pickups. They come with the wiring diagram and no mystery to replace.





First, note where the front pickup is wired and solder the new one in the same position as the old one on the pots. Tone pots control the sound by making it bassey or with more treble.





if you are buying active electronic EMG, then, you will have to get the right tone and volume pot as their is an extra wiring procedure for EMG pickups when it involves active electronics. Plus, a cavity for the battery.

The owner is picky is there something you can stick on that won't damage the walls? Or do you think I shouls just paint the walls a simple color and see what she says when it comes time to move out?|||You can starch fabric to the wall without damage. I'm both a landlord and an interior designer and this is an easy way to get an inexpensive wall treatment without damaging the wall. We've also done it for military families who have to rent and move a lot. You simply purchase one of those wallpaper trays, a lot of liquid starch and some discount fabric from the clearance section of the fabric store. Use a lightweight fabric because it adheres better. Soak the fabric in the liquid starch and starting in the corners, lay the fabric against the wall use a burnisher, putty applicator or credit card to smooth out the bubbles. Use a craft knife either to cut off the excess fabric at the base board (the hard way) or pre-measure the fabric to fit the length of the wall before hanging (make it a little longer because some fabric shrinks). Over lay the next width of fabric slightly on the first until you get to the corner. The last width of fabric may have to be cut to size before hanging if the width is shorter than the fabric. You can embellish the edges with gimp, ribbon, fringe, lace, etc. by using spray adhesive on the back to attach it to the fabric. When you leave, grab a corner and pull. The starch releases and so does the fabric. You may have to wash the walls with 409 in any shiny areas that the starch leaves, but it is almost imperceptible that anything was ever there. And, it can be easily painted over, as well.|||Most places will allow you to paint provided when you move out you repaint into original colour. You can create your own art work by making large frame and stretching canvas over it and then making large 'colour splashes' of art! You will be able to take them with you when you move as well!|||Use fabric...you can drape that around and make the room look totally different. Plus then if you move to another house the with same rules you can take it with you or reuse it one day to make curtains!|||A colorful quilt is a great thing to hang on a wall. Or you could hang a nice weaving, or even a rug.





You could also put a large book case unit against the wall you want to cover (or put together your own with boards and bricks, like we did in the 60s!).|||You could paint, if you don't like the color it is. Or you could use pictures or wall hangings.|||You can hang fabric. Put tacking strips along the top and bottom of the wall. Staple fabric on the top and then stretch down to the bottom and staple there.





You can also buy 4x8 sheets of luan plywood and paint them the color you love. Hang the plywood like you would be hanging a large painting. This will add color but when you're ready to leave, the color goes with you.





Being a former landlord myself, I will tell you that a paint job done by a tenant leaving is never as well done as a professional painter.
