also, i've seen this recipe from her and i don't quite understand this phrase "rap the pan against the shelf" thanks in advance|||Check out foodtv.com (Food Network site). The videos this site shows are limited, and they only show a select number of videos at a time (there isn't a large video library, where you can find whichever show you're looking for). They do, however sell Barefoot Contessa (Ina's show) DVD packs for around $55, plus shipping and all that jazz. You can see which episodes will be on the DVD before purchase, and you could cross-reference with her Episode guide to find out which recipes are on each show featured on the disc...phew, that was a mouthful. They also sell individual DVD's.
Chances are "rap the pan against the shelf" would mean to tap the pan against a hard surface-counter top. I'm guessing you may have buttered it and floured or sugared it?
