What are the chances of getting pregnant when you have unprotected sex 2 days ina row?

me and my boyfriend had un protected sex 2 days in a row without pulling out. my period starts next week i just wanted to know if there is any chances of becomming pregnant?|||If your period really is scheduled to start next week (by your body's reckoning, not your calendar-counting), then sex now absolutely physically can not result in pregnancy. My husband and I have unprotected sex totally on purpose all the time without wanting to be pregnant. But I know what I'm doing.

The problem is that many women EXPECT their period to show up at a different time than the period itself actually INTENDS to show up. There is no biological law that says that your cycle has to follow the same pattern, though.

Overall, if you have been experiencing relatively dry vaginal conditions in the last couple of days, odds are that you won't end up pregnant. Sperm can't move well or survive long without something nice and slick like semen to swim in. Semen melts and breaks down quickly, and sperm will die within a few hours once the semen goes away if there isn't something to replace it. The vagina is relatively acidic and somewhat dry (comparatively speaking) and is actually quite hostile to sperm for much of the time. (Note: Even though this is true, do NOT start using this information to have unprotected sex anytime you feel dry. There are other factors to consider before using fertility awareness as an effective birth control method, like I do.)

However, if you've felt wet (throughout the day when you were NOT sexually aroused--that's a different kind of "wet") in the past few days, the odds are considerably higher that you will conceive. Those wet fluids do 2 things: 1) They indicate that you're likely very close to releasing a fertile egg. 2) They serve to keep sperm alive and give them something to swim in easily after semen breaks down.

Overall, I'll just repeat that it's IMPOSSIBLE to get pregnant from sex one week before you period. BUT... you have no concrete guarantee that your period will always arrive on the schedule that you think it's on unless you know more about your own cycle than period dates.

NOTE IN RESPONSE TO THE OTHER ANSWER: You're definitely not TWICE as likely just because you had sex twice. It's all about timing, not about the amount of sex. Having sex twenty times when you're not fertile does not increase your chances at all. When you actually are fertile, unless there's something wrong with the man's sperm count, all you need is one dose-- having sex just once is all it takes and all that matters. This is exactly the kind of ridiculous misinformation that drives me crazy on these boards.|||Your chances are about twice as high as if you only did it one time.

You might not be in your most fertile period on either day but there are no real guarantees of when an irregular cycle could decide to visit you.

If you plan to use calendar based methods for family planning then you need to learn how they work before you use them, they cannot be applied reretroactively

Use the link below (or search for others) to find out the most likely fertile days based on your cycle length and last period start.
