What's the best i can do for a really bad diaper rash ina baby?

My 9 months old baby have a really bad diaper rash, what can i do?|||Naked time, sunshine and cornstarch. Let baby crawl around naked, and put him in the sun for a few minutes. Don't let him burn (obviously), just let the sun's UV rays kill any bacteria or fungi that are lurking on baby's butt. Don't use synthetic products like rash ointment or baby powder. The synthetic fragrances and petroleum bases can possible irritate baby's butt even more. Just use plain corn starch. Also, lose the baby wipes. Use wet washcloths instead.|||Vaseline "petroleum jelly" ......|||vaseline worked better for my kids than anything else.|||Give it some air time with no diaper throughout the day. Yes this can be messy but really helps. Make sure to change the diaper often. Get the ointment but if the ointment doesn't help it may be yeast infection instead which would mean getting the yeast infection meds (can use OTC but always best to have a Dr diagnose the first case). Cool baths and make sure bottom is dry before putting on the diaper.|||You may want to take her to the doctor to get it checked out. It could be a yeast infection that they can recommend an anti-fungal cream for.

My son had a moderate rash for a couple of months that came and went. We tried Balmex, Desitin, as well as other creams. But it wasn't until I tried Desitin clear that has petrolium jelly in it (I think), which is like vaseline, and the rash was gone in 2 days and hasn't come back. You can even use the generic brands of petrolium jelly. They seem to work just as well. Just look in the baby section.

Good luck!|||when my daughter was about 3 months old she had a diaper rash that I couldn't get rid of... i went to the doc, turns out it was a yeast infection... WTF? but he gave me some cream and it went away lickity split!

(and yes, i cahnged my baby often, its actually common in babies.)|||Change your baby’s diaper as soon as he or she has wet or had a bowel movement.

Wash your baby’s bottom with warm water using wash clothes or cotton balls instead of “baby wipes”.

Using an ointment such as Desitin on your baby’s bottom can put a protective barrier between urine, stool and your baby’s skin.

Give your baby’s bottom more time in the open air without diapers on.Limit the use of soap on your baby’s bottom. When your baby has had a bowel movement use plain warm water and wash clothes or cotton balls to clean his or her bottom. Baby wipes can cause more irritation to an existing rash and some wipes contain alcohol, which is very drying to your baby’s skin.

Diaper rash is often caused by an acidic urine due to excess acid-causing foods in the diet, particularly meats, grains, boiled or canned fruit juices and juices from concentrate. Instead, give the child fresh-pressed juices and raw or lightly steamed vegetables and fruits, which are non-acidic. Mashed bananas and cooked rolled oats are healing foods.

Void lime-lemon-pinneaple-orange juices.

Luck!|||mild soap /water dry well leave open to air also try cornstarch inst ead of powder if all else fails ask doc about mycolog ointment/cream|||Put A%26amp;D on the rash and let her be naked for a bit|||My daughter used to get really bad rashes for some reason. What her pediatrician told me to do was, get some antibacterial cream with pain relief and rub it on her along with the Desiten creamy or ointment stuff for about 2 days (or until healed)and I usually saw a huge inprovement the next day!

But be consistent in using the diaper cream and the antibiotic w/pain relief (diaper rashes really hurt) IF you don't see an improvement, it could be a yeast infection, you could use the medicine you get over the counter for women on babies. Just use the cream stuff. Monistat with no soft gels works best, it just has the squirt stuff you'd insert in the tube. Just rub some on the genitals twice a day, once over night. If that doesn't work, you'll need to take baby to doctor, cause I don't know what it could be!!|||Butt Paste

.... really, its a brand of rash cream that works REALLY well!

You can also try Aveeno Oatmeal Bath for babies.

.|||if it's really bad, you might want to take her into the doc's, they can prescribe a really good cream for you. otherwise, after you change her, let her have some time without her diaper on to help her skin air out. slather on the butt cream, one of my fave's is boudreaux butt paste. and change her very frequently. the other reason to see a doc is to determine if it is something other than typical diaper rash.|||when ALL the typical creams failed (desitin, a%26amp;d, balmex, etc.) and my baby's butt got to the point that it was bleeding a little bit i called the pediatrician freaking out. they recommended "END IT" or "Triple Paste" you can find it at wal-mart or a local pharmacy, or CVS. don't know where else. we ended up using end it and with a day it was cleared up. it was truly amazing although the stuff didn't smell that great. BUT also it's important to remember that your baby may have developed an allergy to the diaper you've been using. so you may want to try a different brand also. the only wipes after having two children of my own that i have been able to find that is gentle enough for babies with diaper rash are Pampers Sensitive. they are truly incredible, and sooooo soft. they were the only ones i was able to use and not have my son screaming his head off. he didn't even wimper. good luck.

if you go to your doctor about it, ask him/her about Nystatin as we have also used that for a diaper rash a couple of times by prescription. although it doesn't work as fast as End It.|||change the diaper frequently. try using Lotrimin or A%26amp;D Ointment. let the skin spend alot of time out of the diaper and gently use a blowdryer (on low setting). call the pediatrician.|||amolin cream its the best cream it contains almond oil and it works like a charm. i work around a lot of kids and i have seen all sorts of rashes and this cream clears it up so well. i would also leave the nappy off. fresh air will kill the bactiria. change the nappy regularly i have had 4 kids and i used to change there nappy every 2 hours and every feed i never really had a problem with a nappy rash but its important to make sure u change them often|||Its called Corona and no not the beer. It is a cream for cattle and horse but it safe to use on babies. 60% lanolin. You can normally get it at walmart in the health/beauty section and if not there try the pets dept. I swore by the stuff and still use it because it is also good for burns. For some reason I am klutzy and like to touch the stove when I'm cooking. LOL.
